Announcements

  • On Dec. 17 there will be Ecumenical Christmas Caroling(starting 5:25 pm at the Manor). Following Caroling, there will be a party at Darrell and Hazel Carter’s home. Please bring a dish to pass.

Joys and Concerns

  • Concerns: Family of Lois Owens, church leadership (Rob not here to lead us in the Minnesota Rouser), folks with Iran seem to be stuck, military troops on extended stays in Afghanistan and going to Africa, Sally Thoma’s son (Mike is moving from Sioux City to Boston before Christmas), and people in Buffalo, NY area.
  • Joys: Ali thanks those attending her recital, after seven years, Rob is in his last year of heading the Mat Club (Chicken Dinner Fundraiser tonight), Jeremy’s joy of being part of church family (we all wish him well), May is happy and looking less colorful (thanks to everyone), Europe able to land vehicle on a Comet, Jeremy’s Mom’s joyful for the welcome we gave her son and is happy to have him back home), joy of the season and having many thing to be thankful for.

Announcements

  • We have ordered 2 nice large poinsettias from the flower shop for the altar area for Christmas. If you would like to contribute to these bouquets in memory of a loved one or honor a loved one this Christmas, please sign the sheet that will be on the back table at church. A suggested contribution would be $10 to $15 dollars. Thanks – The Sanctuary Committee

Joys and Concerns

  • Concerns: Family of Bob Skalbeck, everyone traveling with the sometimes iffy roads, and people of Iraq.
  • Joys: Ali’s recital and the family who came, Rosalene’s Dad (Harris Halstead) turned 99 yesterday and Mae Peterson’s recovery and positive attitude.

Joys and Concerns

  • Concerns: Bob Skalbeck and family (preparing for end of life), Mae Peterson (recovering from fall), Syria, the entire Mideast, and Ebola epidemic.
  • Joys: Mae is a joy and sends her greetings (wonderful spirit), joy of sharing music with the Prairie Arts Chorale Concerts, Wizard of Oz was great, Peggy’s sister is up and walking, attending Ruby’s sister’s church, snow is on the way, and Gaffaneys are new grandparents of baby Quinn (6 lb 2 oz).

  • The Yellow Medicine County Family Services Center is in need of licensed foster care providers for children of all ages. There is information in back of the church.

Joys and Concerns

  • Concerns: Family of Deb Koerlin (father, Roy Iverson passed away), Rob’s Mom (Dutch, is continuing to recover from her stroke), people suffering from cancer and other diseases and for caregivers and families, soldiers still overseas, election process and our leaders, Peg’s sister (Barb has her surgery this week).
  • Joys: Zieskes are joining us this morning, election will be over Tuesday, Dan Mooney, Margaret and Madelyn are here.
